The annual meeting of the engineer advisors for the Pecos River Compact will be held in Albuquerque, N.M. at 9 a.m. (Mountain Time) March 20.
Location for this public meeting will be in the Water Rights District 1 offices of the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer, 5550 San Antonio Drive NE.
Suzy Valentine, the engineer advisor for Texas, described the meeting as “essentially a rehearsal” for the annual Pecos River Compact meeting in April. The Compact administers the division of the river’s waters between New Mexico and Texas.
At the engineer advisors meeting, said Valentine, federal and state agencies make presentations so that “we will know what to expect and provide any feedback in case we have questions or need them to provide more, or less, information.”
The engineer advisor for New Mexico is Hannah Riseley-White.
The regular Pecos Compact meeting will be held April 10 in Midland, Texas.
